The UMR mailboat apparently beat out the middle Ohio one, as the REFLECTOR just arrived at my landing, and Keith hasn't gotten his yet. A red letter day!
Your REFLECTOR must have been on a mail packet downbound from St. Paul -- on a high stage of water with a fast current!
ENJOY!
Hold the phone! The summer issue of the S&D REFLECTOR was in the mailbox when I arrived home! Thanks to Capt. David Smith, who has been busy towboating on the lower Mississippi in recent weeks, for another interesting issue. My ONLY disappointment with the REFLECTOR -- and this certainly is NOT David's fault -- is the consistently poor quality of the image reproduction, with many appearing very "washed out". This one, and recent issues, appear as if they were printed on a xerox copier with very low toner. Also, the paper seems to be of a lighter weight. S&D REFLECTOR issues of decades past show that the same printing company (which has printed the magazine for over 40 years) can do MUCH better!
