Amid the rain and a strong north wind, the AQ landed at Davenport at 4AM. She will leave at 2:30, so check the L&D 15 webcam shortly thereafter for her lockage.

DELAY

For you webcam watchers, the AQ departure is delayed for a few hours in hopes the winds die down. Right now they are at least 25 mph and directly onshore. Whitecaps look to be a couple of feet high.

AQ still in Davenport

10 PM... the final report of a long day: the AQ is still brightening the Oneida St. landing in Davenport. Winds are still strong and on shore. No clue as to when she will depart. Tune in tomorrow...

Thursday AM and she's still here

Its Thursday, 7AM, and our royal visitor is still at the Oneida St. dock. Winds are from the same direction and speed as yesterday, so I don't know her plans yet. Not only does she have the problem of getting away from the wharf, but she has to line up for the lock, pass through both the Government Bridge and Crescent RR Bridge swing spans, and pass under the Centennial and I 280 bridges, all within the first hour of departure. We'll see what the day brings...

Caution to the wind.

I am glad that they have not thrown caution to the wind.......Sorry about that but I just had to say it.

I told everyone that today would be possibly the last ever steamboat visit to Burlington. And now the AQ is probably going to steam by without stopping. Hopefully next year we will be able to laugh about this.

I noticed on the lock list this afternoon that the AQ was northbound below Smithland Locks on the Ohio River. Anyone know what her schedule is? Will she be traveling north of Paducah on the Ohio? From what I could find, I think her next cruise starts on the 31st and is all Mississippi River, right?

Capt. Steve, the AQ is 'sposed to be in Mount Vernon tomorrow and Paducah on Wednesday per the original itinerary. She then is 'sposed to turn downbound and head to Memphis eventually to meet up with the DQ. Smithland tonight doesn't make sense...but then again I heard today via the telegraph that today was a Steamboatin' day for the AQ, not New Madrid, so maybe the original itinerary went kerfluie...

Anybody, please modify this if I'm off a bit or plans have changed.
