more from tonight (April 10)

1. crew had to hose down the paddle wheel bearing as it seemed to be running hot. Also, just prior to this, a hammer was used to bang some parts of the main bearing. A hammer is an essential tool for most steam engine running repairs.

2.3. Off they go.8227.jpg8228.jpg8229.jpg

a few more

Instead of heading directly towards Oak Alley, they made a quick U turn and went downriver about 1/4 mile, then back up river. By then the light started to really fade. Included a quick pass by the Creole Queen

Will be on the trip starting Friday, really looking to Steamboat'n again....8230.jpg8231.jpg8232.jpg

Just in from the whirlwind trip to NOLA for three boat rides. NATCHEZ on Monday night, a swamp tour by boat on Tuesday morning and then off on the AQ on Tuesday night. After being on the road for 12 hours today and having to be at work at 8:00 a.m. in the morning, I will simply say for now " STEAMBOATIN' IS ALIVE and WELL"!!!!!! More details tomorrow night after I've had some rest.

So Happy for fellow steamboaters getting on tomorrow. I know they are going to have a wonderful time!
