Love it or leave it...the new air conditioning system is coming on line soon!
There was a article in the local paper telling of the virtues of the system. I was kinda scared to see all the focus on the "dockside" applications of it. Makes one pause to consider how much cheaper it would be not to operate the boat ifI am reading the article right.
She is almost in her 100th year....we have to support the continued operation of this National Treasure so the establishment sees the need (read: $$$$$) to KEEP HER RUNNING and not make this "dockside" facility out of her!
Read it and see what you think?
Either way...lets support the old gal and keep her running...cause there are few enough left...we have to keep the last two going as long as we can!

Riding the BELLE
One great opportunity for the group to ride the BELLE will be the weekend of the Howard River Ramblings Aug. 21, featuring Capt. Carl Henry as the speaker. The program is always at 3 to allow participants to first ride the BELLE that Saturday. Of course some of us repeat the ride on Sunday too.
As to the dockside bit, I see what you mean in the article, but realistically if the boat doesn't cruise and is just another building, would groups choose it over a modern building uptown? I doubt if that would draw too many charters, even if that might be what the office is thinking...
