Unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of knowing Captain Monaghan, but I have just read where he passed away Thursday, April 3 due to complications from diabetes. He was 72 years of age. My sympathy to his wife and family.

Our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Rita Monaghan and the family. Capt. Mike Monaghan was master on our first cruise on the DQ in 1995 (and also on our second in 1998). This first cruise got us hooked and you all know what resulted from this cruise.
