Last Saturday I ran into Travis at the airshow which preceeded Thunder Over Louisville and he commented on my red fingers. I explained it was red paint, that I had been prepainting the paddlewheel on the CHAPERON model I'm building. He asked for a progress report.
I must say that I am no John Fryant. My model is what I call a "five foot model".....it looks decent from five feet away.
As John said the CHAPERON kit is the most accurate, inaccurate steamboat kit ever put out. Despite my lack of talent, I have enjoyed the project so far.5255.jpg5256.jpg

Jim,

She looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product. Bet she will be the bees knees!

I notice the calliope is missing. So I take it I am not getting the job on her?

Jim, she loks pretty good to me. Your model is further along than mine is. I gotta get back to work on mine.
