Tom,

This cruise is a charter

According to my information the DQ is leaving St. Paul at 6 pm. But thatยดs from 2006. It might have changed.

I just called the chartering Agency, to see what prices might be. The booking is closed, but I asked what the price would have been. This is where it gets cryptic, she said "It depends on which organization and there are many different accomodations" Apparently they booked this for three different groups, Nat. Geo was one, I think--it's on their website.
So, I said, "how about for a catagory G?" she did some looking around (typing noises, etc) and said, "$5,099 per person, double occupancy" It might have been $5,999, my handwritting was too shaky to read!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
EGADS!!!! I hope they're including a lot of shore tours and airfare at that rate. . . (how can they fill the boat?? Although, I suppose you can use the trip as a tax deduction, since it's sponsored by some non-profits. )

NAT Geo. or Smithsonian I think would have an UMR charter...usually downbound. My grandfather way back when loved his UMR trips and he actually joined one or both as I recall. He did several back to backs in those days and he didn't want to interrupt his schedule and managed to book on the charter...as he'd like to start out in either St Louis or St Paul and end up in either...

On another note...it looks like the DQ missed some of the violent weather that passed through here today as it headed towards Michigan!
