FYI: We have successfully sold the Steamer Graceful Ghost and our electric paddlewheeler, Swamp Thing, and they are both in operation. So all is not lost. Both are remaining on Caddo Lake. We, however, are not. One more load of stuff and we will be permanent residents of Leadville, Colorado. Yipee! (Actually, we are just outside of Leadville in what used to be an old railroad town called Malta, or as one old map indicated, Swilltown. We have latched on to that Swilltown nom.) We have what is called a Prow design house and will affix running lights to the forward end, which is on a permanent SSW heading, holding on a convenience store and Mt. Elbert, the tallest mountain in Colorado. The view from the pilot house is quite nice. The nearest body of water, California Gulch, runs through our property. A short distance away it joins the Arkansas River. Most navigation in this area is by rubber raft or kayak. We brought three of our boats with us to use on nearby lakes or when travelling.

Good news in an uncertain world. It's nice to hear that at least one more steamboat will be operating this year. Thanks for the news!

Matthew, I'm hoping you intended to make that play on words! 😉

I wasn't really thinking that way (I had just woken up 30 minutes before), but I guess it could be taken like that 🙂

It's good news that she will still be on Caddo Lake and even better news that she will coninute in operation. Will she work out of the same place?
