Heres a Happy Birthday To You, on the CaLLiope,,..
Oh man, I missed it again. I've been so busy saving steamboats your birthday slipped up on me again. And here I had the perfect card, something about so many candles, stop, drop and roll! Only kidding. Hope you have a wonderful day!
For all the support
For all the discussions, even if sometimes we didn't agree
For all the port transportation of crew in need
For always having our backs
For all that steamboatin' passion
For all the cookies.......
Happy Birthday
Judy,
Hope your birthday is a great one, filled with lots of good steamboatin' memories and heartfelt wishes from all your steamboat friends! Your friendship and kindness all these years is a real treasure, one that is shared by the boatload of river friends you have made over the years. Posted below is a whistle salute in your honor from a boat on which you and I have shared some great river trips.
HBD Judy. The RH Shipyard is closed, today, in celebration of your special day.
Happy Birthday, my friend, I hope it's a great one. Thanks for your never ending patience and, at just the right times, pointing me toward the light.
Happy Birthday Judy
Happy Birthday Judy. Steamboats and riverfolks will always have a friend as long as you are around.
Thanks for all the steam salutes. I'm celebrating with steam in another fashion - they just finished remodeling my bathroom yesterday so I'm getting steam up in there for the first time this morning! For those of you unfamiliar with the Middle Upper Miss Museum, I've lived in this house all my life, and I figure I'll leave it either when I die or go to a nursing home. So modifications in the bathroom were needed - we had an old clawfoot tub that seemed to be getting higher and higher to negotiate, so now I've come to the 21st century and in my 7th decade with a 15 inch high tub. Sadly they had to break up the old cast iron tub to remove it - I think it would have been worth something. Even the pieces were valuable I guess, as they disappeared within a half hour of going to the alley! So now I've got a convenient modern room, an AQ instead of a DQ I guess. By the way Sam, I think the RH shipyard is closed more often than a post office, isn't it???
Speaking of remodeling, there's been a lot of that since this first pix was taken in August 1985. The NATCHEZ' stacks are now shorter, the white ring is gone from the wheel's perimeter, the Toulouse Street wharf is new, and the old Lower Bienville Wharf where I am posing is now part of the Woldenberg Riverfront Park. I kept my car parked in the shed and pulled out the lounge chair to watch the NATCHEZ land. We jokingly called it "Bienville Beach". Note the framework for the stern canopy, but no canvas. This was the first year of those canopies, and we had removed the canvas for Hurricane Danny and hadn't put it back on yet. Danny never did make it to NOLA anyway. The second pix was taken in the late 1980s in my courtyard at the Beauregard Keyes House - think I could try a different pose once in a while? My apartment is in the background under the back porch.

And another Happy Birthday from this side of the pond!!
Carmen, Franz and Enkelin Leonie
I had no idea, Judy, that today is your birthday. Gosh, if I had known, I'd have baked a cake! Happy Birthday, and may many more come your way.
Frank 🙂
Judy,
In celebration of your birthday, we are headed to Brannon Island, in the Sacramento Delta for the annual steamboat meet! At least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
Looking forward to seeing all those steamy people and over 20 steam launches! Oh boy Oh Boy, Steam! Err, I mean, Birthdays!!!
Hope you're having a great one, and splurge and eat a cookie baked by someone else (so you don't have to work at making it!).
Steamcerely,
David & Linda D.

Hi Judy,
Saw it was your birthday. Have a Good One. Here is a funny pic of Roddy I took in Florida.
PEACE. Danny Gray
If you can still squat like that, go for it. It's been years since I could go down that far and not call it torture. As for the bathtub, haven't you heard about the things people are stealing because of the high price of metals these days? Or maybe someone just wanted to build a bathtub grotto. Too bad you had to break it up as those old tubs are a hot item in the restoration business. From one hot item to another, happy 60 something. (And I'm not inferring that we are old tubs.)
