While I was looking through my photo albums for the pictures of the SPRAGUE foray Lexie and I made n 1981, I ran across this photo. Does anyone care to guess on which extant boat this wheel was? (This design didn't last long, and no I didn't find my SPRAGUE pix yet.)

Yes, that's the CREOLE QUEEN's paddlewheel back in 1984. Any idea what inspired that design?

Judy,
My understanding was that design was to quell vibration. The replacement wheel did just that by utilizing a double stepped wheel. Much like the VIRGINIA, QUEEN CITY, and the MISSISSIPPI QUEEN did before her.
