Greetings From New Orleans ,
If this doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy , I don't know what does ! This is a picture of a SURVALENCE CAMERA , mounted in the ceiling of a ship that came into the New Orelans harbor recently . The camera is connected to the internet so that the company and home office of this ship may now observe the actions of the ship's captain , crew and yes Pilots as well . Big Brother has come to the marine industry as well and imagine the Coast Guard useing this as well !! Hold On With Both Hands !

Ted, I joke that MMT has a webcam in my pilothouse, because every time I get busy making a lock, landing, trying to face the boat up, etc., the phone rings. I can be in the pilothouse standing by for 4 hours -- nothing. Run downstairs for 10 minutes, come back up, and there are 2 missed calls on the boat phone! They even gave Sharon the web address, so she can call when I'm busy or gone, too! But they won't tell me what the web address is. ;-D
