Well, it's been announced, naturally, that the JULIA BELLE SWAIN will not run again in the 2010 season.

There's a new Facebook group for the boat and Capt. Trone, and one person posted the attached photo. Does anybody have a copy of this brochure, and could you email it to me in hi-res? Thanks!5077.jpg

Jon,

I wish I still had mine! I lost it many years ago and have been looking for one every since! I loved the calliope drawing. I take it you saw it on the Facebook group? Mine is sitting with my TALISMAN brochure...where ever they are! Capt. Dennis Trone had a nack for advertising his boat in a way you knew what to expect from the minute you walked aboard. Alot of other excursion boat operations could have learned a thing or two from his brochures and operation!

When the NATCHEZ came out they did a old fashioned brochure on these lines and it was wonderful! I do have that one somewhere around here. When I get to the point I have my scanner up and running on the new computer, I will forward it to you!

Jonathan, I dug into my filing cabinets last evening and, lo and behold, there was one of those vintage brochures lurking in a JBS file folder. I will scan and send via yo' daddy.

as usual..

As usual, organized Keith beat me to the punch again! I too found that brochure, but only by accident as I was looking for answers to the 1934 trip question!

With 7 filing cabinets and many dusty boxes of "steamboat stuff", it's a red letter day when I actually FIND something! The thrill is in the hunt -- and getting sidetracked along the way as things come to light that were long forgotten! If only I could teach my cat to file!

feline filers

Well, if Angel can send Pat Carr an email, I would think Casey could at least do some filing!

What years did that brochure appear? Must have been early on.

Learning that the JBS would not run in the 2010 season, I youtubed it the other day. I came across an old Tom Sawyer movie (1973) with some nice pics of the boat rounding to the landing. I´ve watched it when I was much younger and I remembered the opening sequence "as though at it were yesterday". Here`s the link: YouTube - Tom Sawyer 1973 pt1
Sorry for being a little off topic.

old Natchez brochure

It's orange and a trifold with some illustrations. I've got one somewhere, if I find it I'll post it.

I know we have one lying around the office somewhere, I've seen it many times and marveled at not only the prices, but also the route the boat used to take! Alas, I am nowhere near the office, so Judy will have to find hers and put it up here.

By sheer luck, or strange coincedence I found this lying around this morning on the desk. Unfortunatly, it is a four fold...and my scanner didn't like that, so I had to scan in in four parts. Here they are!

Here are the other two. These two are the inside of the brochure, the other two are the outside of the brochure!

Enjoy!
