It was a long 7-hour ride from Lake George to Mayville, but it was worth it. The Chautauqua Belle was very well taken care of, and Mat Stage and his staff were all very friendly. The Captain had a great sense of humor and the Chief Ray was a very interesting character. I had a great time on the cruise and was even interviewed about my family's operations (thats what I get for wanting to go up to the pilothouse!) I wish I could have stayed longer. Here are some pictures from the trip, and the video of the boat's whistle will be up on youtube as soon as it can be. If anyone ever wants to ride a steamboat that's not the 'Natchez' or the 'Belle of Louisville', this Belle is definitely a good alternative. She may be small, but she packs a punch

Nice Pix Matt,, Thanks !!
AND Matt; Here is your video of the CHAUTAUQUA BELLE'S Whistle ..!

Don't mention it Dave. I havent been able to get the pictures to u yet because of my hectic work schedule, but when I get some time, ill sit down and send those along
You just had to put up the picture of the engine-room! Serves me right for wire wheeling it the day before when I knew you were coming! Great to have you onboard Matt and I'll be coming out to see you soon enough, once I get about 30 gallons of primer and paint put down in the engine room and the holds!
What fine photos of a dandy and darling little steamboat! Mathew, thanks so much for making the LONG drive to Jeffersonville for the recent "River Ramblings" program. I'm sorry that I didn't get more time to talk with you and hope you enjoyed your brief visit. Please come back when you can stay longer! And many thanks for bringing a generous supply of CHAUTAUQUA BELLE brochures for our information area in the museum gift shop.
And Matthew "Bubba" Dow -- we certainly hope to see YOU at the Howard Steamboat Museum one of these days too!
I certainly hope to make it out there someday when I have more than 2 days off (if that ever happens haha). On a sidenote, the Minne's 40th birthday is today, and what a gorgeous day in Lake George it is. I started out the day's concerts with "Happy Birthday", "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" and "Marisey Dotes". I'm not sure why I played the last one, but it's a nice song. Might be more appropriate for Doc's birthday on the 1st.
Mat, things are always a work in progress and I'm sure everyone on here knows that, but I can take it down if you want me to lol
