Phyllis Dale has asked me to post the following notice:

To Friends of Jack and Margaret Swan,

This morning I received a shocking phone call from Dick Swan, their son. Friday afternoon I had talked to Margaret on the phone and she told me that Jack had driven himself to the doctor. Evidently after Jack returned home, he collapsed near the front porch and could not be revived by paramedics. His death is presumed to be due to a blood clot.

When Margaret saw what happened, she fell and broke bones in her neck and arm. Surgery is planned for her broken arm. However, doctors will not operate on her neck at this time. They have put her in a halo brace.

She is in the hospital and will soon go to a rehab center. As of now, the doctors feel that her prognosis for recovery is good. However, she will not be returning to her home in Cookeville, TN. Dick said that she will go to her daughter's house in Texas and eventually live in an assisted living complex. Jack will be cremated and ashes buried in New York State.

Dick will call me with more details as to where cards can be sent to Margaret. I will send out this information as soon as I receive it. God be with Jack in Steamboat Heaven. We all need to pray for Margaret. This is a terrible time for her and their family. This is a very sad day.

Margaret's son, Dick just emailed her address to me. She loves cards and would really appreciate them for comfort as she recuperates and also sympathy for the loss of her husband, Jack. She needs prayers.
