Hi Museum Folks:
Can anyone tell me how to present an item suitable for display, to the Howard Museum? I have this vintage 12" Ashcroft steam Gauge, that I would like to give to the museum. I think it might have come from a steamboat, since my Dad worked for Howards as a steamfitter, installing steam lines, boilers & engines, back in the 20's & 30's. Anyway I think it would look good hanging on a wall somewhere in the Museum. I would appreciate your coments and advce.
Thanks,
- Frank Grimm -
Frank,
Contact Yvonne Knight at the museum. I think their web page is www.steamboatmuseum.org The address is 1101 E. Market St., Jeffersonville IN 47130. the phone is 812 283 3728
Mr. Grimm: The Howard Steamboat Museum will be honored and grateful to accept the steam gauge, especially with its provenance of your father having been employed at the Howard yards as a steamfitter on boats constructed and repaired there. Museum Administrator Yvonne Knight will be happy to talk with you about donating this fine artifact and completing a deed of gift. You can contact her, usually after 10 AM (museum closed on Mondays) at 283-3728 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Although the museum address is 1101 East Market Street, we receive mail at P.O. Box 606, Jeffersonville, IN, 47131-0606. Thank you very much for thinking of the museum!
