I just read this story about the flooding in Paducah, KY. For al you steamboaters out there, you surely remember the beautiful town 47 miles up the Ohio from the Mississippi on the LBD. They are doing well, from the wording of the article. But, things are pretty scary around there. This weather we are having around here is not helping. Over 2" of rain in the last 24-hours...headed into the flooded zone. If the DQ were running, the BELLE race would have to be scrubbed, none of the boats would have made it to the Derby, I doubt they would be running at all.

Ohio river stages
I haven't looked at any Ohio river stages, but I assume the upper Ohio isn't in such dire straights, as the rain seems to keep falling between Louisville and Cairo? I think if we get any precip on today, May 3rd, it will be snow! This is ridiculous! Its 41 with a windchill of 35...
Perhaps this will work better. Here is another version of the link previously posted to the Western Kentucky Star. They seem to have the best coverage of the flood situation down there in the Paducah/Cairo/Caruthersville area I have seen yet.

I'll never understand why people buy video camcorders and not learn to use them, how to shoot video so it's viewable and how to edit.
or even worse...
