One of the nicest things about Under the Hill is the oversized wooden rocking chair (s?) out front. A great place to people/river watch especially on a warm day.

Paul, you, me and Deb, and the Piano Bar Man, December 13th AQ cruise, you show us these fancy rockers and we're on, I buy first round...OK?

And Pete, "today's power-repeater", sounds negative to me and I'm not sure how to take it, is this a good thing I hope? Should Deb and I be suitably honored with this title or is this a thing that others look down upon? Following in the footsteps of mentors and all...I'd damn well LIVE on the boats if I could, and VERY PROUD in our support of our friends, the crew...Nothing "power" about it, don't you agree? And I will tell you Pete, Deb and I aren't "power" anything...True story, I went absolutely nuts with a younger DQ tablemate that brought a Blackberry to the Orleans dinner table, and was extremely upset that she couldn't get a signal, after all as she told us she was a "very important person" (notice the quotes, I didn't make this bull shi- up...). Now that is what I label with the slightly negative term "power"...

You mean the bar at the bottom of the hill wasn't Natchez? Is there more stuff on top of that long steep hill? 🙂

High Water Under the Hill

I believe Toots took this picture of the DQ knocking at the door of the Under The Hill Saloon. AQ in the background.1604.jpg

UTH with a Drive-Thru, does life get any better than that? If they would have docked the boat there 25 years ago, I would not be needing knee replacements today.

I think that if you look closely, that is the AQ at the landing. Notice the stairs to the Cabin Deck and a few other clues. The Delta Queen is out in the river waiting to dock, GREAT SHOT. Wish we were there to experience that high water run.

Great Photo! A special note to "Bunker C" Bruno and "Deck Hand" Deb, if the river continues to stay high like this you will have no more excuses for ever missing the Under the Hill Saloon the next time you arrive in Nachez. It can not be any more convenient or handy for you. See you on the river, "Texas Lounge" Lance and "Bow Thruster" Becky

I think I'm getting "slap happy", but I laughed and laughed out loud when I saw the nick names you guys have for yourselves: Bunker C Bruno, Deck Hand Deb, Texas Lounge Lance, and Bow Thruster Becky. I keep trying to tell my family and co-workers that we really are sane people, but ...... And I know you guys are educated and have degrees.... and real world jobs and have raised families and are responsible adults....too much of that soot and smoke from the stack I guess.....

Thanks for giving me a chuckle today.

I don't know about the drive thru, Fred. I'm thinking room service.
