Okay, folks. What paddlewheel boat was on the Ohio River yesterday heading up river through the lock at McAlpine about 1:30 p.m?
If I could afford a Snicker's bar for a prize I would pass it along to the first person with the right answer. But heck, I've got to pay the extra surcharge for my DELTA QUEEN trips next year and can't afford even a Snicker bar right now!!!
According to the Corps lock page, the BELLE OF CINCINNATI began her upbound lockage at McAlpine at 1:30 and completed it at 2:15. That's OK, JoAnn, I don't like Snickers anyway! Now my question: where had the BoC been and why???
Congrats Judy! A gold star for you "*"!!! Too busy at work to think about looking up on the Corp site. Good question. Yes, where had she been and why?
The BOC had been down on the lower Ohio for a special 4-day cruise. I don't know the details, but they took passengers to various destinations where they would stay overnight in hotels. I think Kentucky dam was on the list, maybe Cave-in-Rock, etc. This cruise was November 1st to 5th.
Thanks Steve. I now recall a thread a while back giving details about where they would stop. Too bad some of us spend "all" our money riding on the DELTA QUEEN and can't afford to do anything else! That, and the fact some of us do work for a living and don't have enough vacation time to accommodate all the fun river stuff going on. Oh well, maybe in my next life......
