Good video, Judy. Here's another one with Capt. Steve Hathorn, a NOBRA pilot on a southbound ship: New Orleans News, Local News, Breaking News, Weather | wwltv.com | Video
WWL TV/video
That was a good one, showed quite a bit of the harbor, although they jumped around. It was filmed on Wednesday, so the river is up even more than in this. I heard the NATCHEZ calliope in that last scene of Jackson Square. The anchorwoman is Angela Hill, a local icon. I don't know when she started at WWL, but she was there my first summer, 1984. She had Doc on her talk show many years ago, did a nice interview with him. Capt. Don told me the wharf has been swarming with media this week. Too bad it takes a bad situation for them to notice the river though...
Yes , It Is Still Open !
Greetings From New Orleans & Ground Zero !
Well , yes , the river between New Orleans and Baton Rouge is still open and I was on an assignment just last night and plan to go out again tonight !
I , for one would NOT miss this opportunity to work out on the river for all the tea in China while this river is slowly reaching " Critical Mass " !
I have seen things that I have not ever viewed out here in over thirty-seven years of working out on the Mississippi River !
In fact , there I see this as a once in a life time opportunity to work and experience something that many may only be able to read about and just possibly see a picture of ! I guess its just a matter of attitude and personal perspective , but I AM LOVING IT !
Smooth Sailing !
