Because it is part of the Painted Ponies contest thread, I was afraid some of you DQ fans might miss it, but we've posted some comments and pix about the Carter trip and Lexie's Steamboat 1 sign. That's in the Trail of the Painted Ponies Contest thread.

Here's a pix of the DQ during that horrible thunderstorm above Ft. Madison. It was much more impressive in person, that gleaming freshly-painted solid white boat against the blackened sky...
