Thanks to Pat for posting the TWILIGHT website and info. Since this is in my neighborhood, I'd be glad to make arrangements for a trip and other local activities, if we have any interest. To get a group rate discount, you need 20 or more, but we could go with any smaller number anyway, at the regular price. The schedule is either Sunday/Monday, Tuesday/Wednesday, or Thursday/Friday. She leaves LeClaire, which is just above the QuadCities, about 9AM and arrives in Dubuque late afternoon. She docks right by the wonderful River Museum and the Grand Harbor Hotel, where passengers stay overnight. The next morning is for touring, which is included in the price (unless there would be a Tschiggfrie sidetrip). The boat leaves at noon and returns to LeClaire about 7 PM. There is a new Holiday Inn Express right on the river in LeClaire, and the LONE STAR and Buffalo Bill/steamboat museum is right next to the TWILIGHT. Of course, an open house here at my place would be in order, and I could do a tour of steamboat related sites in the QC pre or post trip too, if desired. Pat mentioned the JULIA BELLE too. She is 3 hours upriver in LaCrosse, and unfortunately she does very few longer trips anymore. Most are lunch and dinner trips, and even the Winona or Prairie du Chien trips stretch into 3 days, IF they have any. The '08 schedule on the website isn't complete. www.juliabelle.com but it doesn't look like you'd be able to piggyback any overnight JBS trip with the TWILIGHT, just local cruises. ( Midwest Buffs is going to be doing a Friday night dinner cruise as part of our weekend meeting there June 6-7). To sum up: how about emailing me if you'd be interested in doing a TWILIGHT cruise this summer, and choose either June/July/August and S/M T/W or Th/F. Let's see if we've got any interest. I've taken several trips and thoroughly enjoyed them. There is plenty of outside deck space, and airconditioned cabins too. [email protected]

A grand and terrific idea. We will have our annual steamboat.org JIM'S DREAM outing on the TWILIGHT this year.

Darn, Deb and I were talking about it, the exact time of the year was up in the air and was being discussed before we e-mailed. Sometime in early to middle June coulda/woulda worked for us, it was just going to be a matter of bucks for airfare and Deb taking off even MORE time from her shop, but that never stopped us before. Late June/early July is already filled up nicely, thank you very much 🙂 . And our son is getting married in early August, mid-August will always be Canada cottage time and late August is back on the Legendary One...so it was gonna be early/mid June or nothing... However, Deb and I do request lots of pictures of the activities, as we will need to be reminded what kind of extravaganza we missed...Next Year and all that...June always works good for us, as you do not want to go to Canada Cottage Country from about the 15th of May until the 1st of July, trust us, black fly season, miserable, I suspect Dale understands...

August 19th doesn't work at all, sorry. A few of us dot.orgers will be getting on the Legendary One on that exact day in Nashville.

But you all enjoy to the fullest, hoist at least a few to the East in our absence...and take lots of pictures to entice these New York folk for 2009...

Yes, we know Aug. 19 is a bad time for many people, but if we plan enough trips, we ought to hit a time for everyone eventually. We need a name for the group when I go to make a reservation. What about .org River Ramblers? Only thing with that, one extra y and we're toast, eh Bruno MF????

🙂, I'm too old for adding the "Y" successfully anymore, too many things need bearings replaced or don't work at full steam pressure without leaks. I'm parlour talking at this point, because never in the past would adding the "y" have been a reality anyways, no matter how young I thought I was, but I can dream. OK, I agree let's forget adding the "Y", definitely would be toast on my part...

Ah for the late 60's...

Sorry we're not going to be there, it's going to be a great time! Judy, my friend, you're gonna get me in trouble..(insert big teethy smile Smiley face here).

I'll give you all the fellow steamboat nerd discount if you want to come on one of the two day trips to Grand Rivers from Paducah. I can even get discount rooms at some of the B&B's and hotels in downtown Paducah. I depart from right in front of the River Museum and Seaman's Church.

As much as I would like to join river buddies on an Upper Miss trip, ALL my vacation days and bucks have already been spent for 2008. Can we make this an annual event and I'll plan it for 2009?

And surely some of us will make it to Paducah for a little river ramble this summer. Travis, Jacque? When would work for you?
