Indeed, it is a wonderful book, filled with many never before published photographs concerning the building of the Louisville and Portland Canal, locks, etc. Leland and Chuck deserve much gratitude for their work on this excellent publication.

The reception at the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center was very well attended last evening and brief talks were made in the auditorium by both Chuck and Leland, with a question and answer session as well. Although it was an after hours affair, the exhibit galleries were open and everything was spic and span. Refreshments were served and there was a LONG line of appreciative people to have their books signed. The Ohio is HIGH and the fossil bed area completely submerged, but the views from the observation deck of the mighty rolling river sparkling in the setting sun were beautiful and awesome. To obtain the new book, contact the public affairs office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.
