On May 25, 2010 Mimi Hughes will begin a swim of the entire 981 mile length of the Ohio River. Mimi has already swam several rivers to publicize her missions that have primarily had emphasis on clean water and other environmental issues. She will need the assistance of river people along the way and I am helping her enlist volunteers. Please visit the following web page to see more information about her swims and how you can help with this one. We need river people from Pittsburgh to Cairo to make this worthwhile journey successful.

Ohio River Swim Video
Thank you for those who have contacted me to help with this event. We are also in need of some video of the Ohio River for a documentary being made to publicize the swim. If anyone has video of the Ohio River that you can share please write me at [email protected].
Update
The planning is going well for Mimi's Ohio River Swim. I had planned to help her in the Louisville area but just found out that I will be in Washington DC during that time. I am looking for volunteers in the Louisville/New Albany area that can assist with small craft escort, lodging or transportation in mid June. Please visit the web site to get contact information for mimi.

Notice that there are still some dates in June where she could use some help with lodging.
