For those who attended any of the past RIVER RAMBLES, you met my sister Harriet. I am sorry to say that she died today very unexpectedly. She was 55 years old.

Jim,

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting your sister Harriet, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. There is surely a strong bond that exists among all who are part of the river and steamboating family, and your sister's passing is a loss for all who are part of this dear community of friends. Take comfort in the fact that many hearts share your grief with you.

Jim: My condolences to you and all your family. I, of course, remember Harriet from the summers in the early 1970's when she worked in the concession stand aboard the BELLE OF LOUISVILLE. I recall that, as a college student, she was studying culinary arts and brought some scrumptious cakes and pastries down to the boat that were promptly devoured by the crew! It was also then that I really got to know your fine parents. Harriet will certainly be missed by all who knew her and I am so sorry to learn of her untimely passing.

Take care,
Keith

Hopefully you and your family are coping with this great sudden and unexpected loss of your sister. I was privileged to meet her on the first Jim's Dream trip in August 2004. Here is a picture of the rose among thorns...2076.jpg
