Hi!
I'm new. My ancestors lived in Freeport, Florida. Censuses state that both John B. Croft and his son John B. (Jr) were Engineers. John B. Jr. was definitely a pilot for The Captain Fritz, classified as a coastal schooner. The Fritz sailed from Freeport to DeFuniak Springs, Panama City, Pensacola and New Orleans. A picture is posted at http://www.flgenhistonline.com/counties/walton/walphotos_page0006.htm .

Where can I go to find out more about the men who worked on her and another possible ancestor, Captain Jack Croft?

Capt Fritz

I am trying to find information on the steamer Capt Fritz. I know where she lays now, but it is VERY difficult to find any history on her. If you have not been to where she sank, give me a shout and I can show you. Have a great day!
