The new MAL website doesn´t feature any themed cruises (anyway lots of folks have booked f.e. Civil War themed cruises offered in the old 2007 schedule because of the special theme). Any informations about how this is handled in the future? Will there still be special lectures or special shore tours?
Riverbarge is now offering a Quilting cruise

(and of course other themed cruises).

Rumor has it they are planning a Swan Lake theme trip, and at Christmas they will have seven-swans-a-swimming in the MQ and AQ pools.
I am very inerested in learning the policy on themed cruises. I have been a guest lecturer on the boats for 18 years and truly have enjoyed the experience. I have been unable to contact anyone concerning future opportunities. I have tried e-mail, cell phones, and even applied on-line with MAL. I would really appreciate any information any of you may have on the best way to reestablish my contacts.
Best Regard to all,
Ann
On pages 34, 35, 44, 45, 54 and 55 are listed several theme cruises such as Civil War, Quilting, Big Band, Bluegrass, Ragtime and Native American. I'm sure I read somewhere in one of their flyers than the Civil War cruise would once again feature Jim Getty as Abe Lincoln - of course I can't find it!!
He's one of our favortites so I sure hope so. And, Ann, I hope to meet you again too.
Thanks, Ginnie,
Good to hear that at least they still feature themed cruises in the brochure. As usual the new brochure didn´t find its way to Germany. As for the MAL website there´s nothing mentioned there about themed cruises. Nothing about the Belle Race or the Great Steamboat Race. The word "race" isn´t even in the description of those two cruises.

When I talked to Doc last week, he still hadn't heard anything about whether or not he would be on the 'race' trip from Memphis to Cincy.
