We're off to ride the steamboat
The most wonderful steamboat of all!
(sung to "Off to see the Wizard")
Well, tomorrow we head off to NOLA (after a short, SHORT, night in Sac to catch the 6AM flight), so this will be my last post until we get back! Just wanted to say ALOHA to you all, and Big Mahalo for all your kind assistance in guiding us on this journey.
Steamcerely,
David & Linda Dewey

The web-cam photo of the DQ at Erato Street Wharf truly is a sight for these well worn eyes. Filmy smoke is rolling from the stack and all looks well. One thing I don't see, and maybe it's because of poor camera resolution, is her name on the front of the pilot house. One wonders, has the eagle flown during lay-up?

Had a look on the webcam right now and the Natchez is passing the DQ :-)!

Frank, it really looks like there´s no nameboard and no eagle.

Hope springs eternal! The DQ and NATCHEZ together again in NOLA, steamboating season is officially here! I talked to Capt. Steve Nicoulin yesterday during the 11:30 cruise. The Deweys were aboard and did indeed bring cookies. They had 252 on that cruise, which is certainly a good number for these times. Steve says they are running every day, a total of 15 trips a week - not up to the standard 21, but its coming up. Look for a replay of the photos at 4:10.

The eagle has landed. . .in storage. At least that's what we were told on Saturday during our visit. In its place is the company's name.
