Folks,
Reports from the AMERICAN QUEEN just two hours ago have her in the Gulf of Mexico sailing towards New Orleans under her own power! Our girl is coming home to the waters she was designed for....overnight steamboating is BACK!!
At the moment she is in a dead zone on the AIS. Keep watching though, as she will show up there soon!

Red & Green Decks
I wonder if they are finished painting her plain decks with the red and green paint like they said.
On the AIS now!
The AMERICAN QUEEN is now showing up on the AIS as of 5:30pm. To answer your question, Matthew. The plan was to return her to the colours she had the year she came out. I understand quite a deal of effort was put forth by many people to replicate that original colour scheme. I am sure there are some places they were not able to be exact owing to changes made by paint companies and things of this nature. I can assure you, these people are working tirelessly to get it right. I am mega impressed with them and what they are doing! You can rest comfortably knowing that overnight steamboating is back, it will be done right, and people who know what they are doing are heading this effort up. It will be a success because they are focused on making it work. They aren't like some previous owners, these people are boat people first and understand what she is and what she needs to be! Oh, and the last picture I saw....there was no blue and/or maroon trim on her. A much better look for a beautiful boat!
Where i live is Winona,MN and alot of other people live in Alton,IL where the American Queen won't dock this year but Queen of the Mississippi will.
Travis,
Is the wheel back on too? That would be some mighty fast workin'!

thanks for posting that website! I assume it wouldn't fit in the ICWW?
