Maybe the comments were unedited, but so were the pictures! Take a look at the last one of the happy couple with Pittsburgh fading away in the distance. I can almost see my well-used lounge chair there on the starboard stern Sundeck - and I haven't taken 41 trips on the AQ!

Where do I sign up?

There's another picture that looks like the DQ, on one of the links at the bottom of the aforementioned page, taken on the Texas bow. Not that it matters one iota. It is kind of ironic, though. Maybe if we take a trip on the AQ, and start smoking something, we'll think we ARE on the DQ, or maybe even the JM White. Far out.

From AQ to DQ via a PP

Or for me, a Planters Punch or two might transport me back to the DQ!

Seriously though, I have no illusions that my AQ trip in July will be a DQ-like experience. The AQ doesn't have the intimacy of the Old Girl, and of course the emphasis on the hotel/restaurant aspects isn't my thing. But I am looking forward to finding that spot on deck from which to watch the Upper Ohio scenery glide by, and to record (on an actual cassette tape recorder) the calliope concerts, and to watch that paddlewheel make its rounds. I'm also looking forward to visiting the Point Pleasant River Museum for the first time. That is one reason I chose this Pittsburgh-Cincy trip, another being there are only 2 shore stops so we might do some actual daylight cruising.

I guess great river minds think alike. Besides the two reasons you mentioned, the other reason I booked that trip was it was partially over a weekend, for this workin' gal. And I LOVE the upper Ohio.
