Here is an article about something they are putting on the wharf for the 100th anniversary celebration:

It mentions river historian Rick Bell. Can anyone enlighten me on him, the name isn't familiar.

I think Rick is the historian specializing in the history of the U.S. Marine Hospital at Portland (Louisville).

Rick also does regular tours of the waterfront and has published a very enlightening book on the history of Louisville's waterfront. Rick's tour had a large influence on the Belle receiving Atlas' generous gift of work on the Belle's main engines last winter.

Judy, Rick's a good guy, you'll like him. Through his book and waterfront walks, he's made a lot of people appreciate the role of steamboats and the river in Louisville's development.
