Just thought you might be interested in the fares for the 1958 season, 50 yrs ago. If the fares were the same today, I could finally afford to ride the boat. Maybe Judy could use her magic inflation calculater to see how these fares compare in todays dollars.2675.jpg

Pictures of the rooms, 1958

Here are picrues of the rooms from the 1958 brochure. Sorry about the quality. Notice even the Greene Line used the phrase "Your Cruise Ship the DELTA QUEEN"....so MACL wasn't the first.2676.jpg

Ok, it was a little hard to read, but as I see it:
for a weekend trip(was that 2 or 3 days?):
1958 2008
63 451
74 530
95 681
105 753

A St. Paul trip, which would be a 21 day roundtrip:
1958 2008
340 2438
395 2833
415 2976
525 3765

That would range from $116 to $179 per person per night - shoot, JoAnn would be on the boat more than at work!

Sorry the columns don't post lined up the way I typed them...

No rest for the wicked. On top of my usual job at the office, I've been given extra duties. I guess they figured if I had time to save a steamboat I had time to do another person's job!!
