Happy Jack Benny Birthday Steamer NATCHEZ!

Hard to believe, but this weekend is the 39th anniversary of the NATCHEZ' christening and first trips. My second summer working on her we had souvenir 10th anniversary cups at the bars...how time flies! While the fates of our other beloved steamboats are often questioned, the NATCHEZ under the ownership of the Dow family and guided by Gordon Stevens in the NOLA office cruises on - flags flying, calliope serenading, whistle blowing, and crew guiding and maintaining her. A special salute to her pilothouse mainstays: Capts. Steve Nicoulin, Don Houghton, Steven Nicoulin, Troy C. Delaney and to Chief Engineer Scotty Vieagas, all of whom are 'lifers' on the NATCHEZ. Wish I were there today, but I've just booked a July trip so that will have to do for now.
