Memorial Day has traditionally and officially opened the start of the excursion steamboating season. Although the number of operating steamboats continues to dwindle, here's hoping that all steamboat buffs and buffettes who are "called by the calliope" take every opportunity to ride a riverboat powered by steam this summer -- while it's still possible!
Have a safe, holiday weekend and a great summer! Do come visit us at the Howard Steamboat Museum and take a ride on the beautiful BELLE of LOUISVILLE, with all the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of a STEAMboat!

I agree...I sincerely hope we all continue to support the few we have left and have them around for a long time to keep up the traditions!
