The next event in the continuing celebration of the Howard Steamboat Museum's 50th Anniversary will be an Antique Auto Show on Saturday, October 25th from 11 AM until 3 PM. The museum will be open as usual and there will be food vendors (hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, etc.) on site. Admission to the auto show is FREE and there will be free guided tours of the mansion at 12:00 and 2:00. As always, donations to benefit the continued oepration of the museum will be gratefully accepted!
The show will feature the 1897 Haynes Apperson automobile, purchased by Capt. Edmonds J. Howard for his son, Jim. The vehicle was restored in 1961 and is owned privately by a collector in Massachusetts. This will be the second time the historic auto has been exhibited at the museum, the last showing being in 1997.
Additional antique autos from the 1920's through the 1960's will be displayed on the museum grounds. For additional information call the museum at 812-283-3728 or visit the website at Howard Steamboat Museum - Home Page
