I am searching for a Delta King or Delta Queen memorabilia fan who collects unusual items about the boats.
Items that I have are from the estate of John J. Burns, who was the son of James Burns who built the Delta King and the Delta Queen. I was the executor for John’s estate following his death in 2001.
I have a set of cuff links and tie pin that belonged to John. (Photos available for email). I don’t know the history of these. I recall that several years ago John was invited to be a special guest on a trip up the Mississippi on the Queen and that this trip was a feature presentation of the California Gold TV series. This may have been related to that trip.
I also have several documents relating to James Burns, including a photo noted that he is standing in front of the Queen during construction, and a business card showing his position as Supt. Engineer, California Navigation & Imp’t Co.
Please have any interested person contact me. My email address is [email protected]

Paul,
Those pieces belong in a museum that would appreciate them and display them! Hopefully, that would be here in California, BUT the Howard, I know, would treat them with the respect they are due.

PS, but as a DQ "nut", I'm drooling!
