Hey All,

I am fairly certain with some digging in the Reflector I can find a list of all Jones and Laughlin steam towboats but hoping maybe someone in steamboats.org land could provide a quick list for me.

Appreciate the help!

Aaron,

A quick peruse of Way's Towboat Directory reveals these for J & L:

ALIQUIPPA
ALLEGHENY
AMERICA
B.F. JONES Jr.
C.D. O'CONNOR
CONSTITUTION
JAMES A. RANKIN
KISKA
MIKE CREDITOR
PARANA (self-propelled barge, steam-powered screws)
SAILOR (1900-1923)
SAILOR (1924-1951)
SHANNOPIN
TITAN (1892-1899)
TITAN (1899-1929)
TITAN (1930-1953)
VESTA (1902-1930)
VESTA (1931- present day J.S. LEWIS)
VULCAN (1899-1910)
VULCAN (1910-1951)
WARREN ELSEY
Wm. LARIMER JONES (1930-1953; first towboat to come out new with steering levers only; no pilotwheel)

J & L also briefly chartered the packet CITY OF CHARLESTON to haul pipe during a railroad strike.

There may be a few others that escaped listing, such as smaller steam harbor boats, and boats they may have chartered, but this is probably the best and easiest list to be found.

Thanks Steve,

Have not had a chance to check WAYS or the Reflector so this is a big help!

Lots of familiar names in this list.

Thanks again!
