There are some steamboat and river photos on the Ky Historical society web site. Here is a link for a photo of the City of Louisville in the throes of ice at Cincinnati in 1918: http://162.114.3.83:2005/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/ORP&CISOPTR=57&REC=12

and the Island Queen and Princess in the same ice:

and Bryant's Showboat and the Valley Belle on the Ky River at Gratz, KY:

A steamboat on fire at Cincinnati. No date. Can anyone identify this boat?

If you go to the Ky Historical Society digital collections search site at
http://162.114.3.83:2005/cdm4/search.php
you can type in a key word such as river or steamboat and find many pictures.

Jim, it may be the first Chris Greene. I am not sure because I've never seen this picture. It was in 1922 and the Morning Star, the first Island Queen and the Tacoma were also destroyed - IF this is the Chris Greene. It surely looks like her.

I'd say that's the CHRIS GREENE (I) also. The FRED HALL was in the harbor with steam up that November 4th. She provided aid and assistance, and pulled the Chris away from the wharfboat into the river. It looks as if the QUEEN CITY is at her wharfboat and was lucky not to get cought in the conflagration.
