The vessel was a towboat, built 1915 at Parkersburg, WV. Hull size 98'l x 23'w
Ran almost entire life on the Kanawha River. Rebuilt into the James Sutherland in 1928. I heard that whistle for real as it was blown at the 1965 Whistle Blow at Long Reach, WV. There are lots of photos of the boat out there. Try Murphy Library or Inland Rivers Library at Cincinnati. A good photo of her whistle being blown in 1965 can be found in the S & D Reflector of June 1965, page 20
