Is there a master listing somewhere of all remaining paddle wheelers and steamboats? It is probably right here on this site but I am missing it. I am primarily looking for cruising boats like the SS Natchez.

Active steamboats

If you're looking for steamboats still operating on the Mississippi River System, here is the list: NATCHEZ, BELLE OF LOUISVILLE, AMERICAN QUEEN

There are steamboats on lakes, two in New York being: MINNE-HA-HA, CHAUTAUQUA BELLE. There are small steam launches like: MISSIE...

Two Mississippi River steamboats not operating but which could resume:
DELTA QUEEN, JULIA BELLE SWAIN

Hmmm?

So there is not really a master list?

In this corner of the world our last little steam launch operating in Juneau was sold and might have moved to the Seattle area.

We have a few non-real-steam paddlewheelers like: American Empress cruise Columbia River Snake River and Riverboat Discovery

I am a few hundred miles away but I am hearing rumors that the Queen of Seattle is closed(?) Queen of Seattle Paddle Wheel Cruises - CLOSED - South Lake Union - Seattle, WA | Yelp

Steamboats Today Pictorial Directory

In 1986, Tom Rhodes and Harley Scott published a 146 page book entitled Steamboats Today - A Pictorial Directory of North American Vessels. Now out of print, it is a fine listing of most of the steamboats that were operating at that time, as well as those which were retired and being used as restaurants, museums, etc.

Check ebay and Bookfinder.com for possible availability.

50 States

This list of steam paddle wheelers in all 50 states is not bad: Riverboats of the Fifty States

Not bad but the list needs cleanup

It's not a bad list but its outdated. Lot of broken links or outdated information. It still lists the Julia Belle Swain as operating, though they haven't actually operated in about 7 years (though thanks to new ownership, hopefully the day will come in the not-to-distant future that she'll run again). A few others that I looked at had outdated links. Still, not a bad list to start from.

I have found some dead links too as well as missing boats but it has a few that I had not heard of before.

We do have a list here on stemboats.org: Steamboats & Pictures | steamboats.org

But I admit, it doesn't cover all existing steamboats yet and it's a bit outdated. But if you like to contribute, I'd be happy to work on this list 🙂 I just don't want to and can't make a copy-and-paste of other websites' lists ...

The fact that I suspected there was such a list here and could not find it means that I might not be the best person to try and update it. Here are a few lists that I have found so far:
Welcome to PortKY.com -- Sternwheelers of the Kanawha River
Featured Sternwheelers
GKRN - Riverboats

I have been caching riverboats on this list as I find them but I think that people have to join the site and group to view it(?) Groups - The Steampunk Empire
