MERRY CHRISTMAS and BEST WISHES FOR A BLESSED NEW YEAR to all the great people who post upon and read this message board, so generously provided by Franz, Carmen and, of course, Capt. Leonie! This medium has undoubtedly brought many river minded people together who otherwise probably would never have met. I treasure the new friendships made through Steamboats.Org and look forward to many more! Thanks!
Here's hoping that 2009 will be a brighter year in all ways and I look forward to seeing many of you at the steamboat museum. Happy Holidays to ALL, a whistle salute to herald the new year and may God bless us every one.
Keep up steam!
Keith
In this season of lights, herewith are photos featuring a watercolor of the Str. BECKY THATCHER aglow at St. Louis, and the Str. BELLE OF LOUISVILLE on a cruise at sunset in 1972. The frigid image of yours truly with the BELLE in the snow and ice was taken by my dad in 1989 when I was still a "youngster" of 35!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our river and Steamboatin' friends. The Krause's believe 2009 will be a year of increasing hope, good health and improving luck toward all our friends, both animate and "inanimate", if you catch my drift.
From California to Maine, from New York to Florida, from Iowa to Texas, from Missouri to Ohio, from Indiana to Washington, to all the way across the pond to Germany, Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays
Wishing all my friends here "old and new" the best for 2009 ,,...
And a MERRY CHRISTMAS,,..

Please see Judy Patsch posting in River Talk + Crusies for my Holiday Greeting. That said it was a heck of a year for meeting new people and returning to my marine industry "Roots". I'm still up for adoption. Looks like another cold night in the kennel on Dec. 25th. :-).
Happy Holidays to all from me too! All I want for Christmas is a DELTA QUEEN pardon and a new owner that loves and cares for her and knows what steamboatin' is really about!!!
A Joyful Christmas to everyone from down on the muddy Brazos.
Best wishes for a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year, from near the confluence of the Licking and Ohio Rivers!
Frank
A very Merry Christmas greeting to all from the lower Upper Mississippi River, where we're stopped in fog and drizzle. I may have to work Christmas, but we'll sure eat good!
Merry Christmas to All! May Santa bring for all a new future for the DQ and her sisters.
And for the two congressional villans..... buckets of coal and ashes for not being good boys this year.
To: Keith a secure MISSISSIPPI; Bruno, a place to vacation outside NY...you can always come down to see MISSIE; to Dave a whistle salute; Fred, a steam engine to tend...you can come down and tend MISSIE but the pay is somewhat less then you're used to; Jo Ann, a DQ running and prosperous; Sam...lotsa time on the SUN-FISH: Matt, a successful wintering on Lake George; Hank...bright days on the Brazos; Frank, some time in MISSIE next year; Bob, a lifting of the fog or eyes to see thru it and Jim, no lack of things to video next year. Y'all stay warm now from here on Gunpowder Creek. Cap'n Walnut

Cap'n, that would be fantastic! Thank you for thinkin' of me. With all the time I spent out on blue water this year, I think that I might need a transfusion of several units of mud to get things back to normal, here soon.
Merry Christmas!
Frank: Dunno how much mud a unit might be, but, trust me...MISSIE knows how to find it! She can flush out all that nasty old salt too!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all from the banks of the beautiful Maumee River in Ohio where the SHAWNEE PRINCESS used to cruise.
Jim Richardson, former "Chief Engr"
Annie Blum here, joining in with ONE LONG TWO SHORTS AND ONE LONG, wishing all of you a very merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays.
Buon Natale e Felice Capo d'Anno. Un Abraccio.
And a Merry Christmas from Northern California where this morning's weather has been rain, hail, and now sun.
Steamcerely,
Linda & David Dewey
Oops, sun's gone now. Like Hawaiian weather, wait 5 minutes, it'l change!
Merry Christmas to all and my best wishes for a safe, successful, and steamboating New Year!
Earlier today my Father and I went over to the casino across the river and as I passed the BELLE OF LOUISVILLE and looked over the Ohio River I couldn't help but think of those great Christmases past aboard the MISSISSIPPI and DELTA QUEEN's.
Someday we will all be together on the river for the holidays again...till then
Merry Christmas from mile 602.3 on the Mighty Ohio RIver!
~Travis~
