Here is the MIKE FINK back home again at its regular roosting place alongside Riverside Drive in Covington, Kentucky. The hull work is done, and now a new look is underway inside. It seems like only yesterday that I saw the FINK, steaming up the river near the Ohio River Compnay coal fleet on the westside of Cincinnati, but wearing the name, CHARLES DORRANCE, on its nameboard.

I bet you don´t know when they will be back into service? I´ve just checked the website but it´s only saying they are closed.
Having small hopes for a lunch on Aug 26th,

Try the Riverside Marina
May I then recommend the Riverside Marina, just up Ky. State Route 8 on the outskits of Dayton, Kentucky. It's not far from downtown Cincy, and you can sit out on the covered patio barge and enjoy a beautiful view of the Ohio River. There is also a fascinating collection of steamboat models built by the late Carl Mulligan, who also built several for me.
If I am not mistaken, the sternwheel towboat WINIFRED is out on the bank, there.

Mike Fink and other Photos
Sam,
Thanks for posting the photo of the Mike Fink at Covington. Several times a week I drive to Schmidt Field and eat lunch by the river, which affords plenty of opportunities to use my camera. The attached photos of the Mike Fink, the Winifred and Mitchell, and the Crimson Glory, lite boat, were taken from that vantage point. Seeing the Glory yesterday, of course, brought back memories of the evening of December 12, 1985, and her involvement in the sinking of the MQ.
I hope to post additional photos very soon.
