More pictures courtesy of the NATCHEZ crew, but I don't know who took these and sent them on to them. These were taken on the Perry ST. wharf and show the starboard side.
1)scaffolding under the wingbridge
2)Notice the chipped and peeling paint on the bow. They obviously are waiting until all the heavy equipment and loading is gone and done before repainting it to the original color. The red building across the river is Robin St., devoid of the familiar DQ signage and seating out on the wharf.
3) Ah, glorious WHITE (this was where the horrid navy blue was slopped on by the incompetents from the previous ownership.

Even more AQ pix
Interior shots - the third one reminds me of the time Mike Swigert brought me aboard at Robin St. during the first bankruptcy - there were any crew around, just the covered furniture and I bailed... Now the boat is full of life even as furniture is covered more than that previous painting in the Engine Room Bar!

Thanks!
Thanks to the great crew of the Str. NATCHEZ and to Judy for sharing these terrific photos! After the past few years of "rampant rumors" and all sorts of hysteria and falsehoods, these images now bring us the truth and REALITY that overnight steamboating will soon be back! HALLELUJAH!
Best wishes and thanks to ALL who are working hard and putting in many long hours to get the Str. AMERICAN QUEEN back into service. I well recall the excitement when she came up the Ohio the first time in 1995 and of how HUGE she looked as she processed up through the Louisville harbor, making our dainty BELLE look like a model by comparison. I'm sure there will be much hoopla, again, when she blows for the Louisville landing this spring!
HAPPY STEAMBOATING!
AQ in NOLA
Thanks for the regular updates and photographs. She looks great, I know all of us on the upper Ohio are looking forward to her spending almost the entire month of July in our area. There's no doubt in my mind she'll receive the same response and celebrations she generated on her first trip up in June 1995.
I remember well being at Hannibal Locks and Dam in the early afternoon of June 25 where enormous crowds had gathered on both the Ohio side of the lock and on the WV side in New Martinsville. Vehicles lined every space of the Route 7 as far as the eye could see and traffic across the New Martinsville bridge was just creeping along. I'll have to dig up the pictures I've got showing throngs of people lined across the bridge watching her slip beneath it and into the lock chamber. She was well received and cheered loudly as she exited the locks playing her calliope.
Looking forward to the summer months and seeing her again for the first time since 2007!
Did she stop in Winona,MN in 1995 because she won't be stopping this year.
What kind of things are they doing to AQ in NOLA.
AQ video during Inaugural Trip in '95
Why upload pics when I can simply add a link and you can see the AQ entering Hannibal Locks and Dam on her upbound trip to Pittsburgh. New Martinsville, WV resident Gary Campbell too kgreat footage from the bridge. I wish there were video of the events happening near the viewing platform. There were huge amounts of people in that area, which is where I was at the time she arrived.

We upload pics so we can have a look at what's going on with AQ at the NOLA but that video was from 1995 not 2012.
You misunderstood my previous posting where I stated that I would upload pics at a later date. Instead, I then found the video footage of her during her inaugural trip up the Ohio (going off what Keith posted about her '95 arrival at Lousiville) and was doing a follow up to my own posting when I said "why upload pics when I can upload a video" of the same event. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
It's alright and those are some interesting videos im just glad those stacks were shortened.
