Hello everyone,

I wanted to share some screenshots of my Delta Queen model I have been working on for the past several years. I started working on this in early 2008, and very slowly here and there adding parts making it as accurate as possible. I have not used any plans for this model, just pictures and videos. 😉

There is still alot of small details to add, and of course the model needs painted/textured

Nick, that's a great job! What tool are you using? After some 46 years of making physical models of steamboats, towboats, barges, bridges, locks, etc., I'm learning Blender. It's open source, and is capable of some amazing things. First will be a smaller towboat.

Thanks everyone!

Lee Anne, I am actually using a bunch of different programs

Delftship (free software) for modeling the hull
Google Sketchup for modeling
Milkshape 3D for converting and modeling
3ds Max 8 for texturing and animations
Adobe Photoshop for painting the textures

new screenshots of the Delta Queen

Hello everyone, here are some new screenshots of my Delta Queen model. I am working on some textures to make the model appear more like the DQ. They probably won't be final but will work for now.

There is still alot of work to do, but I'm happy with it so far.
