I thought I'd post this in the Steamboats and History column, since unfortunately so many steamboats have recently become history. I'll be flying to MSY early Wednesday and returning to MLI Monday. The forecast is for 70s/80s with thunderstorms a few days. I can deal with that, after our early winter here. I'm taking this MacBook and my new digital camera, so if I can find WiFi and if I can figure out how to transfer pix from the camera, maybe I can do a few Live from the Levee reports after cruising on the one and only steamboat running on the Mississippi system this third week in October - the steamer NATCHEZ.

Free WiFi can be found at the Community Coffee House on the corner of Royal and St. Philip. I always went there when my neighbors at 926 finally decided to make their WiFi password-protected. I usually buy a drink when I go in there just to be nice, but they might let you off with it. I don't know their rules if they have any. Have fun in New Orleans! Lords knows I'm jealous.

Have fun!! I had my NOLA moment today. We currently have an art exhibit with photographs in the public area of my law court. And right next to the door of our room where we dress up for hearings and discuss our judgements there´s a photo of the little bakery around the corner of your appartment. There´s another photo series of Oak Alley next to the main elevator.

Bakery
Yes, the Croissant d'OR. Many a visitor has been directed there and consumed several meals from their selection. As you know from LeRichelieu, where there are refrigerators inroom, you can eat breakfast in the cafe, take something for lunch/dinner to store in your room. Its much cheaper than other options. This bakery is on Ursulines, the 600 block. We share a wall with it out back. I'm posting this in Memphis, so I'm still a couple of hours from a quiche Lorraine or ham and cheese croissant...
