I was going through some of my great grandfather Reuben M. Thomas' river books, materials, papers, etc. and came across a small booklet in excellent condition called "River Drift" second run. The publication's main feature is Excursion Boats and has several great stories chock full of history. Not sure what boat is on the cover. The second page shows that it was published by the WJ in 1970. I haven't found anymore and was wondering if the publication of these booklets ceased or if more additions were printed?
River Drift Rundown
Taylor, those dandy little booklets were compiled by the late James V. Swift, who for 60 years was the business manager for The Waterways Journal. Jimmy compiled four runs of River Drift, beginning in 1969 and it was discontinued after the publication of the 1972 edition.
The photo on the cover of the second edition is the packet DUBUQUE, which later became the Streckfus steamer CAPITOL.
