The AMERICAN QUEEN's marketing guru Tim Rubacky recently posted on his Facebook page that he is moving back home to Ft. Lauderdale where he will continue his career in the consulting business. That leaves John Wagoneer as the only "founding father" of American Queen Steamboat Co. remaining with day to day operations of the company.

Hope this is not a harbinger of things to come. Seems to have a corralation with the image of four legged critters scrampling off the ship via the mooring hawsers. Guess time will tell.

I know of another creature that would be best leaving the boat on its own volition or by an exterminator, if need be. Either would work. He's a VP of something or other and sits in Keith Tinnen's old chair while not in Memphis. This four striped high pockets came down once from his lofty perch to tell me in no uncertain terms, "This isn't the Delta Queen Steamboat Company!" while I was commenting on the old company and how I saw that it, well, just did somethings better.

He just didn't seem to get it, nor want to try, the poor thing. There was no repeaters' party that trip, no second line at what was billed as "The Gala Captain's Champagne Dinner", dining room service was inferior to what I experienced earlier in the year, while another Hotel Manager was onboard. No light snack and beverage buffet was available at the assigned rendezvous place in St. Louis before being bussed over one hundred miles to Hannibal, MO. to catch the boat. The worst thing, though, was having the boat's muster drill smack during lunchtime. Perhaps, I wonder, maybe that's how they did things over at Oceania Cruises from whence he came.
