Hi all,
If you are active on Facebook and are a member of the S&D's of Pioneer Rivermen or interested in the organization, please "like" the page by clicking the "thumbs up" icon for updates and upcoming events.
Time has shown us the evolution of sail to steam, and steam to diesel. We have also seen the evolution of newspaper to radio, radio to television, television to internet and now to social media. Adaptation is something we've all learned to accept in one form or another. S&D has seen much of the above mentioned changes in its 70 plus years of existence, including this now recent motion into being a part of Social Media via Facebook.
The page was slow to take off but recent activity is spurring more likes and even generated several messages from individuals with river and steamboat related questions - all to our benefit, hopefully! Regular updates, photographs, and more will be shared on the page. If you have a photo or interesting story that you would like to share please send it to us so that we may forward it on to our very own David Tschiggfrie, Editor of the S&D Reflector, for use in the quarterly Reflector. We hope to engage and interact more often through social media in order to keep members informed and of course, attract more members to the S&D in the future.

Taylor,
Great idea to have an S&D Facebook page. I haven't checked it out yet, but will do so shortly. I won't be at the Spring BOG meeting but here's another (crazy?) idea. How about an S & D app for iPhones or iPads? I have no idea how to do this or what it would cost. Just a thought. Of course, I guess the Facebook page could be seen on those two gadgets also.
