Hey all,
I just stumbled on a travel webpage which is stating MARAD has dropped the price on the AMERICAN QUEEN to $15,000,000. Who wants to bet she is back running in a year or less? At that price, someone could buy her and operate her.

Unrelated but don't know where else to post it: Our local Jumers Casino is being bought out by Delaware North. They just opened a landbased casino and hotel a year ago and are outdoing the other local casinos. I suppose this is in part due to the death of D. James Jumer, and also an opportunity DN sees to enlarge their casino operations. Don't they own one over on the upper Ohio somewhere? It seems that there was some fear that they were going to use the AQ to run out of that casino and to possibly carry some gambling on board.

Yes they do...they own the casino on Wheeling Island in West Virginia. There was scuttlebutt about that at one time. I don't think she would have been much for them up there. She'd have been a white elephant on the upper Ohio year round!
