I recently purchased a 1909 postcard depicting an excursion steamer I have identified as the "Leander Choate" leaving Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I have been searching around and have not been able to find ANY history on the old girl except that she later became a steamer named 'Valley Queen." I also found a video and picture of her original steam whistle, I would also like to know where I could find it. I figured some of you intelligent people out there might be able to help me out. = )

The boat apparently ran the Fox & Winnebago Rivers for 14 years. Follow this link: Collection Home | UW-La Crosse Historic Steamboat Photographs | University of Wisconsin Digital Collections, select "Search the Collection", and type in "Leander Choate".

Thanks Steve! That was a very helpful link. Any other good websites I could go to? Getting closer to filling in the blanks.
