A late morning "Live from the Levee" phone report from Judy brings the news that the MQ has, indeed, been towed away and her final river journey has begun.

Sad new for sure, Keith! Attached are some shots of the MQ on a much happier cruise.

1. Big crowds attended the keel laying event at Jeffboat in the Fall of 1972. Betty Blake is giving a speech on a portion of the boat's hull, with many VIP's behind her. The MQ wasn't even named yet, known only as "Jeffboat Hull 2999".

2. Fast forward to June, 1976, and the MQ is approaching it's home port of Cincinnati for the first time. That was a big flotilla of "boat chasers" following it!

3. On the same day, after passing under Cincinnati's Roebling Suspension Bridge , the boat slows for it's first arrival at the Public Landing.
